Reason #251 why I am going to miss Pucka… Trick or Treating at Halloween! Seriously – this is fun, fun, fun people… us Aussie's really need to get with the program!
We decorated the house… we bought the treats… we dressed up the kids… and it was on! I sent my lot off to do their Trick or Treating while Jaimi and I set up camp in the driveway to greet all manner of gouls; and witches; and gory, blood-soaked characters… along with an assortment of beautiful princesses and fairies ♥
Reason #127 why I am going to miss Pucka… big buck kangaroo's resting in the front yard ♥
I just made it into the new day for this shot… finally back at the hotel after Zoe's graduation dinner… time for one more photo before she turned into a pumpkin ♥
Today it happened… our little Zoe graduated from high school.
We had a beautiful mass at St Monica's in Moonee Ponds, where all the graduates were presented with their certificates, before heading over to the Moonee Valley Racing Club for a wonderful dinner and dance (well, the kids danced, the parents watched! lol).
The boys looked so handsome all dressed up in thier suits… and the girls – just breathtaking! So many stunning dresses and gorgeous hair styles… Congratulations to the Class of 2011!
(a big shout out to the amazingly talented and supremely cool Lisa from Living Dolls Makeup Artistry who did Zoe's hair and makeup – thanks Lisa!)
Grandparents Day! Yay!… today was grandparents day at the girls school… the invitation came a bit late (read: two days ago – thanks Willow!) so I wasn't planning on passing it on to my parents… they both work; live over an hour away; and have already been over here a number of time this past couple of weeks with me being couch-bound and Zoe needing some sewing help with her graduation dress… however Willow wormed her way into my conversation (yesterday!!) with my mother and gave her the invitation.
As luck would have it, despite my mum having to work, my dad had the day off… so over he came – again! With the frenetic madness that is 'the Bingley girls', I'm not sure if he would consider the trip worth it – lol… but I'll let you be the judge!
(all photos that don't contain Xanthia – were taken by Xanthia :))
Well, that's it… today Zoe finished her last ever high school classes… tomorrow is end of year activities, and Friday is muck-up day and Graduation… I just can't believe it
well, my ranga has gone back to Sydney, so it's time to break in a new kitchen-bitch… oh, I mean cook 😉
I must say, her Tacos were quite delectable! ♥♥♥
Trust me when I say, you are not going to want to miss the slideshow at this girls 21st!
YAY… I actually managed to hobble outside today… Willow had to carry my camera for me (as well as be my beautiful model)… but it was worth it!
Jaimi has been spending the month of October with my parents, in Bendigo… today she came home for a visit… and a snuggle with dad before he had to go back to Sydney ♥
What a fun game… lets poke Mum's bruises until she baulks! Oh Happy Days!
I would like to say that this is as bad as the bruising got… but little did I know – there was more to come! lol!… right now, my right leg is known as 'the rainbow leg'!
Willow and Russ going through her top 100 most used spelling words… she's no Sukanya Roy … but she is doing ok!
Here's the dilemma, do I make you suffer through yet another photo of my battered legs, or do I regale you with this oh-so-natural, un-posed shot of Darci?
The thing about needing crutches is, when some little widget steals them, I'm stuck!… somehow, that doesn't stop her!
Look! A photo that DOES NOT included my legs – YAY!… instead, you get to see Willow catching me up on what I have missed at Munchkin rehearsals!
There's no place like home… morning view v home view… ahhhh!
Day two – post op…
Time to change the bandages and a chance to check out the doc's handy work.
Day one – post op… (bilateral posterior fasciotomy)
The day passed in a lovely drug haze; not too much pain… but my legs look like they belong to an oompa-loompa!
Darci has removed the screen from her bedroom window and put a step-stool outside, so she has easy, quick access to the back yard… does it get any lazier than this? lol!
Sorry guys… I know I have been missing around here lately… but I do have a good excuse!
I had both my legs operated on last week and have been relegated to the bed and couch for the duration of my recovery! It is frustrating and boring and FRUSTRATING, but there it is!
You will all be happy to know that my recovery is going well and I will be up and about again in the next few weeks… annnnnnnd – I HAVE been taking my photo-a-day! The bad news is, it's like groundhog day around here and all my photos look the same! lol! When I finally get to upload them, you will see a lot of pics my bandaged up legs, and not much else… something to look forward to, I'm sure! lol!
So, when my red-headed guard dog (aka: the husband) lets me back near my actual computer, I will catch up on all my photo-a-days!… in the mean time, please don't forget about me!
nine. ten. eleven… Zoe's eyes… are they green; are they blue?… they are gorgeous, that's a given!
This week, the local radio station was running a competition to find the best party trick… I entred this video of Xanthia and her vibrating eyeballs… first thing Monday morning I got the call – Xanthia had freaked out enough people to be the first winner for the week… her prize – a family pass to this weekends Shepparton Show!
Now, I wasn't planning on a trip to the show… but I didn't have any other plans either, so off to the show we went… and we had a blast!
Darci and I decided to give the rides a miss… but that didn't stop Zoe, Xan and Willow… although I do think Willow may have had moments of regret… hahaha!
This is the 'little' pony Willow won when I gave her one of my lucky numbers to open… the big pink pony was definitely her choice!
Thanks to Jordan and Steph from StarFM Shepparton for the tickets! Great day!
Darci 16 year old portraits… of sorts! She is a hard girl to get 'serious' out of, so I just take what I can get!
She is wearing one of her birthday presents… the wonderful, one-of-a-kind, recycled, patchwork creation made by Darcie of Infinite Possibilities. I love it so much that Darci had better keep an eye on it or it might just wind up in my wardrobe… a bit like my ugg boots that, somehow, now live in Darci's wardrobe!
We love daylights savings… it means we still have beautiful sunshine at the end the day to just sit down and collect petals… we have a magnificent banksia rose growing wild over our back fence, and Xan collected a bowl full of fragrant petals to put in her bath!
It's still school holidays, but I still have to work, so I had to wake all the girls up early this morning to give Darci the rest of her birthday presents… they were all still a bit dopey, but I think Darci appreciated it!
Happy 16th Birthday to my beautiful middle child!
ps: I was under threat of death to cut Zoe out of all photos from today… she is NOT a morning person! LOL! (don't worry Zo… I'll just save them for your 21st!!)
Less than 12 hours and this girl will be SIXTEEN!!
I promised Zoe I wouldn't photograph her pyjama's (that she is STILL in) if she came to be my photo-a-day… but I didn't promise I wouldn't talk about it! LOL!
