He wiggles around, blocks my view and breathes really loud… but ya gotta love ‘im <3
Fred took part in the Chief of the Defence Force Parade at ADFA today… it’s his third and final year here… and his last parade as an Army Cadet after recently being accepted to transfer to the Royal Australian Air Force! Congrats Freddie <3
I wore this necklace for about two years straight… never took it off… then late last year, I grabbed it by mistake as i was getting changed and it snapped in my hand :'( I was so sad… but this week I found a jeweler who could fix it!! He soldered that tiny little chain back together and i couldn’t be happier!
Jami found this little lady on the front verandah and was most insistent that we didn’t harm her… so for about a week we watched her move around, back and forth she went… then one day she decided to live on the hand rail, right next to the stairs leading up to the house, and she had to go… I told Jaimi I would find her a new home… so…she lives in heaven now.
The morning view of balloons flying over Canberra, from my front verandah <3
Working hard on forging good habits this year… so gym at 5am is the go… no matter how tired my eyes look!
This is Willow’s boyfriend (yes – I said boyfriend – my baby has a boyfriend! ?)… I can’t show you his face, because… well, because Willow said so? #nahbullshit #checkbelowÂ
Less than a week after I washed him, and dried him, and brushed him to perfection… Walter went to the farm :/  #ohjoy
My birthday… thanks to my gorgeous family, it was amazing <3
Happy Valentines Day! … my ranga made me a card – and it is perfect <3
It took hours… and there was much silliness going on… but in the end, Xanthia straightened Willow’s hair – I swear it grows so fast you can almost see it getting longer!
This photo (shot from my work carpark) in no way captures the feeling of Armageddon out here! The wind is fierce and the sky is full of dust and weird light… time to build a bunker I think! 😉
My new gym buddy… Darci has big plans this year – and it all starts with improved fitness!
I’m not sure who this girl is… but she ordered a SALAD and a WATER from Maccas tonight!! #attackofthebodysnatchers
I think someone is pretty proud of his new veggie patch… I’ll be more impressed when there are actual veggies in it! 😛
I’m not sure Gina enjoyed her bath in the kitchen sink… so if she wants to avoid them in the future, she should take more care about what she rolls around in! #stinkydog
… and then there was one <3
My baby girl is off to Yr11 this year… time to find out just how committed she is to her goal of studying Vet Science at uni… though she hasn’t shown any signs taking her eye off the prize so far! <3
Today I had have a minor procedure to remove a lump from my tongue… I didn’t love the anethesist taking THREE goes to get a cannula in (left hand – fail, left arm – fail, right hand – success!) and leaving some nice bruises in his wake… but I am loving the custard and ice-cream diet I’m on for the next day or two… or five – you know, if my tongue is still sore 😉
Zoe’s home!! … (and Alex too 😉 ) … and I think Xan’s new room needs a couch!
(they are watching ‘Pitch Perfect’ on the giant tv that was only allowed in her room because she is no longer at school!)
Tonight Gertie came for a visit… and took up position in her favourite spot – my office chair! … seriously – I left the room for less than a minute! … but who can argue with that face? <3
Xan’s turn to cook tonight, so it’s tacos all round!
She said I wasn’t allowed to take a photo of her smiling… oops 😉
We bought Willow 3 tickets to see Keith Urban for her 16th birthday in November… we said she could take whoever she wanted – and she chose us <3
It was an awesome night, a brilliant concert, amazing sunset, perfect temperature… and only a little bit of rain 😉
Four Aussie chicky-babes in the back of a ute… #meanwhileinAustralia
The vinyl floor is going down in Xan’s new room… and I would just like everyone to take pause and witness the majesty that is the way those boards fit intricately around that door frame… it is truly a thing of beauty!Â
Xanthia has decided that she wants to switch bedrooms into Zoe’s old room … but, of course, that means she needs to make it ‘hers’. Zoe’s pink wall is now white, and a grey wall has been added… then the carpet was ripped up and masonite is being laid (Russ is just adding the final touches now)… next (and last step before she moves in), the vinyl flooring will be laid… I will be just glad to get all the excess furniture OUT of the common areas!
Today I went straight from work to my very first pilates session… and from there to a hockey committee meeting… so it was after 9pm by the time I finally got home… I think Walter might have missed me <3
Taken with phone, because that’s what I had on hand.
Xanthia & Albert… and that’s all I’ve got to say about that.
Da boys, da boys… and da girl!
Gina, Walter & Marty… waiting patiently for the cheese I have in my hand 😉
This lot are all off for a sleep-over at Darci’s house… Lord help her neighbours!
The days are super hot, and the nights have a hot wind, and a haze that covers the sky.
♫ By the light, of the silvery moon mobile phone… ♫
#millenial
Every couple of weeks, Gina the rat-dog comes to visit for a few day… she gets to run with the big dogs and spend her days lazing inside, stealing socks… and annoying said big dogs 😉
I went into Jaimi’s room to take a photo of her… but she wasn’t really in the mood… so I caught Willow out the window instead… taking care of her rabbits.
The weather has heated up again here in Canberra, so lazing on the couch happens during the day, and work happens at night… these two are working on a project for Willow’s room – she has grand plans for a full room makeover… but, she is starting with a recycled, wooden wall.
The house is pretty devoid of people today… and I wasn’t up for another selfie… so out into the garden I went, macro lens in tow, to check out what the rain left us <3
Yep – this happened!
It’s been a saga, but Willow finally has that learners licence in her hot little hands! …
… she actually qualified for it, through an in-school program, in March, but she wasn’t old enough to collect it then… so she waited till the day came that she WAS old enough – that was about five months ago! – but she had no paperwork (that Access Canberra would accept) that could prove her home address, and having her father standing there to verify it didn’t work!… so, she applied for a tax file number, and opened a new bank account… a wait for all that paperwork to arrive and back to Access Canberra they went… ahhh nope… still no go – because she didn’t have three months worth of transactions in her new bank account, and Russ’ licence was NSW not ACT, they STILL wouldn’t hand over her learners…
I would like to digress slightly here, to point out that she could have bought a gun from Walmart in the USA… but Access Canberra wouldn’t give her a LEARNERS licence!
… back to the story… by now, I (with my ACT licence) am back at work so unable to take her in… so, I filled out a stat dec stating she really did live here, and gave a scanned copy of my licence to Willow & Russ… and back they went… finally, TEN MONTHS after qualifying for it – Willow has her Learners Licence!
Now, I would warn you to get off the road – but I already have THREE out there driving around, so you should have handed your licence in years ago!!
Darci came for a visit… and to do laundry… and eat cookies 😉
This is the day that the Bingley girls took over Subway! This is their first shift all together <3
Willow is home for a long shift at work… and she is feeling ‘spicy’ ?
This is Dexter.
Today Dexter clawed his way into the packet of meat thawing on the kitchen bench.
Then Dexter broke out of his ‘prison’ by jumping on the handle and opening the door.
Dexter is a jerk.
Don’t be like Dexter.
